After a seemingly innocent start, this restoration of a 1968 911L has degraded into something else entirely. A few "helpful" suggestions from people formerly considered friends morphed the straight restoration into what you’ll see (with any luck) develop here.

So what is it? Obviously, there was never such a beast as a 1968 Cayman, as everyone knows they weren’t produced until the 1973 ½ model year. This car is . . . that is . . . will be a mid-engine, water-cooled Porsche with a Porsche power plant, the way it should be (in our humble opinion, not that it matters).
